Lost in words? Try these.

Let yourself be silently drawn by the stronger pull of what you really love… Rumi

I was sent this quote today and it struck me as an incredibly powerful reminder that sometimes, despite all the soul searching and positive thinking, self talk and talking it through with others, affirmations, goal-setting and planning – despite all that ‘on track’ type stuff, words often just don’t work.

‘Let yourself…’ If we could only learn to let go – to surrender control for long enough, we would go further than we can possibly imagine. ‘Getting out of your own way’ is another, but less graceful, way of putting it.
Can you?

‘Be silently drawn…’ what a beautiful image. Silence on your Hero’s Journey, as Joseph Campbell called it. Imagine that in this world of planes, trains and automobiles. An inner journey though… it sounds peaceful and calm instead of the idea of stress and upheaval usually associated with change.
Are you?

‘The stronger pull…’ it is stronger isn’t it? What a reassuring statement. Stronger than needing to keep your ok-but-not-great job because… well, it pays the mortgage, I’m doing alright and only a few more years in the company pension plan and I’ll be all set up…
Will you?

Let yourself be silently drawn by the stronger pull of what you really love…
