<itunes:summary>"The world needs what you have. There's a reason you were given those gifts, there's a reason you're given those desires - they are worthy of time, attention, love, nurturing...

And it starts with you..."

Press PLAY above to listen here or subscribe to the Journeys Podcasts in iTunes.

Are you a creative spirit trying to find your way out?
Are you at that point where it takes courage to take the next step?

If you think you might be, Jamie Ridler has created a special place - a place of fun, magic, community, and inspiration called Jamie Ridler Studios, where she brings her years of experience in theater and coaching together to help people find their beginning, their transformation point, on their personal journey through life - "...it can be so challenging because the road hasn't been paved before, there are no signposts, people around you think you're insane... I love that spirit, I love adventurousness, I love keeners who want to make something happen - make magic happen".

Using a combination of workshops, one-on-one coaching, events and a bizzillion ideas, Jamie focuses on growth, courage, and empowerment. She creates her workshops carefully, providing unique environments, both in Toronto where she lives and online "...inviting people to stretch, to risk... and making it safe to do it ....they can do it here in this space and then they can go out and do it in their life". And after she's helped them "across that bridge" to "finding more real honest self-expression", she makes sure she helps them celebrate too - "it's like the best job ever!"

Jamie literally loves her work "sharing the art love and the people love" or Exponential Goodness, as she calls it. "I love being with people in that moment where we're saying "yes, yes, let's go! I'm here - you can do this!"

Here, Jamie talks to Michelle about her work, what drives her and about her own adventurous journey. She also talks about:

really scary places, leaps into the unknown and adventure buddies
why the last time you got a haircut or bought some new shoes matters
	growing with grace
emotional rifts with money and how to cure them
authentic professionalism - are you prosperous, hip and enlightened?
why you might not want to rush through your next encounter with your accountant

Jamie’s favourite locations include: her Studio "empty and waiting for something to happen" and art galleries...

<itunes:summary>"This is not just my work - this is the work of all women on the planet at the moment - to go out and take the essence of the feminine out there and share it with others "

or alternatively to subscribe to Podcast in iTunes click here.

Fiona Sturrock is a woman with a mission. She's determined to help women "discover, recover and sometimes uncover what it is to be a woman" - to reconnect with their feminine side and their sensuality. These are sides of the self that, as women, we often hide away as we move through our lives and our work, adopting the predominantly masculine styles of leadership that have prevailed up until now.

Here she describes her work to Michelle - her work within the corporate world, showing women a more sustainable model of leadership, one in which they can utilize their feminine power; "it gives them more range and makes them a more powerful leader"; and also her work developing her unique Power of the Feminine program - a series of 5 transformational retreats spanning a full year, where women reconnect with their inner goddess, discover what it is to be a feminine leader and and truly "step into our feminine energy".

Fiona also tells Michelle about her personal journey, one which started with accepting that she needed to do some personal development work on herself, moving out of her comfort zone, attending Hungarian Girl Training School (!), leaving the 'safety' of the corporate world to start her own business... and one that has ultimately led to her leading, training, and coaching women throughout the EMEA region (Europe, Africa, Middle East), who in turn will lead and show more women "a new way of being in the world".

She also tells us:

Why many women in the corporate world are becoming exhausted and depleted.
How your feminine side is not necessarily your weaker side.
Why colour and curves are the new black.
The importance of feminine role models and sisterhood.
How learning striptease and exotic dance can help get you in touch with yourself (and make you a better leader).
Which investment is the best one you can make in order to find your calling or purpose in life.
What's on the other side - pleasure, delight, deliciousness and gorgeousness...

Fiona's favourite location is on the banks of the Danube in Budapest, Hungary.

Wendi Friesen is one of the most successful hypnotherapists in the world. Over the 15 years she's been practicing as a hypnotherapist, she's helped people deal with a whole range of personal issues such as:

Stopping unwanted habits, such as smoking, alcohol addiction and snoring
Dealing with pain, such as allergies, migraines, back pain and cancer
Dealing with health issues, such as childbirth, insomnia and weight loss
Helping with emotional issues, such as stress, depression and phobias
Developing confidence, public speaking and sports excellence...

Here she describes her work to Michelle - explaining the way hypnosis works within our brains, literally rewiring them; "So what we have... is the ability for our brain to grow and change, based on what we think, what we feel, what we do every day, what we say to ourselves... hypnosis grows a new neural network and it does it very quickly, with some repetition... that's why hypnosis can make such huge changes in your attitude and in your personality."

She shares some examples of how people have literally transformed their experience through using hypnosis. "The effects just grow and grow, because we've changed your brain, we've changed the way it accesses information, we've changed where it goes to find the responses and reactions so you just start feeling better and better - and it's a permanent change."

Wendi also tells her own unfolding story of how she first started as a hypnotherapist and what she's aiming to do in the next year or two.

Find out:

How to get over self-sabotage and why you keep doing the same things over and over, even though you don't want to
Why what you think about is making your brain grow in a certain way
What dendrites, mirror neurons and neural networks are (fascinating)
Growing new pathways in your brain to overcome unwanted behaviours
Accelerating your skill levels faster through hypnosis
How Wendi creates her hypnotic sessions
A simple daily self-hypnosis technique you can do that can help you change your life exponentially

Wendi's upcoming locations may include: an elephant school in Thailand, a ranch in Wyoming, and various places in Africa, Australia & New Zealand (listen to the interview and it will make sense!)

Winifred Whitfield is an artist who specialises in making beautiful photographic portraits of women; “No matter your age or your weight, I will create a beautiful and flattering portrait of you as you would like to be seen and remembered”. Her process is twofold - the first stage involves a consultation during which she and her client visualise the final image together, and later the taking of the portrait in the studio; and the second stage involves Photoshop and Painter, her digital toolkit, where she blends photography with the appearance of traditional art.

The final portraits - "my vision and artistic expression of my client’s image" - can literally change the way her clients see themselves; "the look in their eyes and the tears of joy I get to share with them when they have their finished portraits... that's inspiration!"

(the 'before' painting shot - compare with the 'after' shot above, where Winifred has woven her magic)

Here she talks to Michelle about her personal journey, which includes Wall Street, a herd of llamas, a bactrian camel named Gobi, a dromedary named Butterscotch and a large dose of fearlessness in approaching new challenges! In Winifred's words; 'what's to keep me living my dreams or the life that I choose, except for the way that I think about it?... and if I do not block myself with "I'm afraid"s or fears, it's all there for me...'

Winifred also talks about;

How many women believe they are not photogenic or beautiful enough to have their portrait taken- until they see Winifred's portfolio of 'before and afters' shots.
What she loves most about her work "This opportunity to touch lives is just so powerful... and to alter the way women feel about themselves."
The ways in which we are all affected through the way we see ourselves.
The story of the blue butterfly - enhancing the healing process - life transition and metamorphosis.
Creating the perfect wedding venue - painting on a huge scale with plants and trees, land and textures.
Inner transformations, experience, significance and the power of a 'If I can think it, I can do it' attitude.
Fearlessness, taking each next step, keeping focused on doing good work and how we hold ourselves back.
The importance of following your heart and what you truly want to do, despite current business 'wisdom' or what everyone else seems to be doing.
The nurturing power of Work as Joy.

Winifred's favourite locations include: New York, her farm and her calm, very creative, very alive, 'active place inside of me'.
